Discount NALGENE Tritan Wide Mouth BPA-Free Water Bottle

This bottle is excellent for hiking. I use the 32 oz. which seems to be a good amount, not too much that it adds unnecessary weight, but big enough you don't have to stop for refill too often. I also have a SteriPEN Classic Handheld Water Purifier for sterilization of water and this bottle works beautifully with it as the SteriPEN requires a large neck bottle. The two of these combined make excellent hiking companions, but I must digress as this review is about the bottle.

The bottle does not retain taste and is BPA free, so if it does get heated up in a car or in your pack or in the sun while you're hiking, you won't be consuming microscopic carcinogens. Also, it is durable as it has survived much abuse thus far. Also, as an added plus, it has metric and standard measurements, which can come in handy, since most of the survival classes and books I have read and gone through run off of metric units for calculating water loss and replenishment.

PROS:

Pretty much indestructible
Perfect size
Does not retain taste
Cap with retention loop
Metric and standard fluid units
Far lighter than stainless steel counterparts

CONS:

No insulating properties (alright with me, I was pretty sure it didn't, but it would be nice)

BOTTOM LINE: Definitely recommendable. I have had both stainless steel hiking water bottles and these and these are far superior. They are lighter, their cap is attached so it can't get lost, they're clear for quick and easy volume check, and they don't retain taste. I couldn't be more pleased with this bottle.Get more detail about NALGENE Tritan Wide Mouth BPA-Free Water Bottle.
